A small Island state, Tasmania is Australia’s southernmost state, and is a naturally serene environment with rolling hills and Victorian architecture throughout.

Hobart, the capital city, is home to over 200,000 people and is the second oldest city in Australia. Built on the harbour with the often snow capped Mount Wellington in the background, Hobart is a small relaxed city with terrace lined streets and eclectic surroundings. Tasmania has a much cooler climate compared to that of mainland Australia. You will find mainly hotels and apartment hotels here – as well as countryside manors and resorts.

Launceston, at the top of the island and closest to Victoria is Tasmania’s second largest city with around 100,000 residents. The Victorian and Georgian architecture throughout provide a sense of history is what has mainly been kept a preserved city.

Launceston located in northern Tasmania is a popular tourist destination, famous for its Victorian architecture and striking natural scenery. Launceston is also an ideal base for visiting the Tamar Valley wineries and other nearby national parks and waterways.

Launceston is easily accessible driving from Hobart, or using Launceston airport. Launceston is also home to the popular Barnbougle Golf Course – set against the coastline and offering amazing views out to sea against the dunes.
