Western Australia is a large state on the west coast of Australia, and within it lies its capital city Perth. Access into Perth is usually through the domestic and international airport, as most other cities are not within driving distance. Once in Perth, home to over a million people, you will find a warm dry climate year round. This modern city is characterised by its new commercial towers, juxtaposed by the long white sandy beaches of the nearby coastline.
Accommodation in Perth is usually very expensive, due to its location, and the large mining sector and natural resources sector which have increased business trips significantly to the city, with an under supply of hotel rooms. Tourists should expect to pay upwards of $200 per night for a basic hotel in Perth. Nearby areas such as Fremantle and Broome to the north offer much more affordable accommodation, and excellent beachside accommodation.
